Questacon Earthquake House Upgrade
Scope of Work
The Earthquake House in Gallery 3 was old, requiring a refresh. SERENDIA were engaged by Questacon to complete the work while leaving the rest of the Gallery operational for the most part. The works consisted of high-end finishes, requiring intricate attention to detail. With a fixed end date for a VIP opening ceremony, the program was crucial.
Challenges & Achievements
Working within an operational Gallery in Questacon has multiple challenges; with noise, dust and material movement. Furthermore, there were multiple latent conditions discovered as the demolition progressed. All these surprises were well managed to meet the project completion date in time for the ceremonial opening.
