Questacon Subsidence Rectification

SCOPE OF WORK
Serendia were initially engaged to investigate the reasons for ground subsidence. On completing these investigations, Serendia discovered the cause and provided recommendations to remedy, which inclded the installation of waterproofing to the Basement walls (which were non-existent).
Questacon then engaged Serendia on a Managing Contractor role to complete the recommended improvements and waterproofing on three of the four elevations.
CHALLENGES & ACHIEVEMENTS
After the initial investiagation phase, Serendia put together a design team to provide advise on structural and waterproofing. Wolfin membranes were installed, with stringent geotechnical processes to ensure no further subsidence.
Working in or around Questacon is particularly challenging due to the presence of children. The high-rish works were completed without incident.
